James F. “Tom” Hancock, age 94, of Everett Lane passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Dawson Springs Health and Rehab of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, December 15, 2017, at Flat Lick Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jesse Brown officiating with burial to follow in Flat Lick Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home and then from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, December 15, 2017, at Flat Lick Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Hancock was born on August 30, 1923, in Trigg County, to the late A.B. and Bess Campbell Hancock. He was a farmer. Tom was a member of Casky Baptist Church and a former member of the St. Bethlehem Civitan Group. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Norfleet Hancock; his daughter, Sandra Gayle; his three brothers, Sherwood, Joe and Effrie Hancock; and his sister, Helen Jones.
Survivors include son, James Robert Hancock and his wife, Shelia of Russellville, KY; his daughter, Linda Dianne Hancock Weaver and her husband, “Dick” of Hopkinsville; his brothers, Author Moody Hancock and his wife, Velma of Hopkinsville, Dalton Hancock and his wife, Grace Lane of Cadiz, and Billy Ray Hancock and his wife, Linda of Hopkinsville; four grandchildren, LaDonna Hightower, Chris Latham, Chris Hancock, and Justin Weaver; and ten great grandchildren, McKenzie Hightower, Ethan Latham, Nathan Latham, Raleigh Hightower, Sam Hightower, Draven Latham, Mason Hancock, Carson Hancock, Hannah Latham and Cole Latham.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Flat Lick Cemetery fund.
