J.W. "Bill" Sowell

               
            
            
   J.W. “Bill” Sowell, age 75 of Edwards Mill Road passed away 9:00 AM Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Western Kentucky Veterans Center of natural causes. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Grace officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, March 17, 2017 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
Mr. Sowell was born April 16, 1941 in Hopkinsville, KY, the son of the late James Brandon and Letha Lewis Sowell. Bill was a veteran in the US Air Force. He was a State Trooper for the State Of Kentucky for over 30 years with retiring in 1995. Bill was preceded in death by his sons, Bill Sowell Jr. and one passing in child birth.
Survivors include his sons, Jeff L. Sowell and his wife, Carol Ann of Oak Point, TX, and Mike Sowell of Trigg County; his brothers, James Brandon Sowell and his wife, Brenda of Belleville, IL, and Thomas Allen Sowell and his wife, Lynn of Hopkinsville; his sister, Betty Scott and her husband, Billy of Hopkinsville; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
