William Elwood Powell

               
            

William Elwood “Wood” Powell, age 60, of Hopkinsville passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 at Baptist Health in Madisonville, KY of natural causes. Memorial services will be at 2:00PM on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 6, 2017, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
   Mr. Powell was born December 10, 1956, in Christian County, KY, the son of the late William and Virginia Jones Powell. He was a roofer for Powell’s Construction Company. Elwood was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Parks Powell in 2012; his brother, Otis “Hot Rod” Powell; his sisters, Nancy Powell, Patti Powell and Rachel Powell.
   Survivors include his sons, Clayton Fivecoat of Kentucky; Gregory Fivecoat and his wife, Jeannie of Hopkinsville, James Fielding and his wife, Cindy of Hopkinsville; his daughters, Lisa Bryl and her husband, Myles of Somonauk, IL; Terri Gibson and her husband, Tim of Hopkinsville; and Jannette Downing and her husband, Kurt of Merrillville, In; his brother, Jimmy David Powell and his wife, Ruby of Hopkinsville; his sister Diane Trump and her husband, Junior; twenty-one grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
