William “Bookum” Bond age 83, of Hopkinsville, passed away on October 8, 2020, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 11, 2020, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Haley officiating with burial to follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
Mr. Bond was born in Pembroke on May 30, 1937, the son of the late Norris Earl “Buck” and Josephine Mason Bond. Bookum was retired from Pennyrile Electric. He was also the Christian County Electric Inspector and a Major in the KY Army National Guard. Bookum was a member of Pembroke Baptist Church.
Survivors include; his sons, Tim Bond and his wife, Deanna of Orange Beach, AL, James “Jimmy” Bond and his wife, Kay of Navarre Beach, FL, and Bryant Bond and his wife, Alicia of Hopkinsville; his sister, Rita Slaughter and her husband Alton of Pembroke, KY; eight grandchildren, Barry II, Amanda, Brad, John, Virginia, Holly, Conner, Andrew; nine great grandchildren, Tyler, Barry III, Steven, Sophia, Piper, Sellars, Bond, Ryleigh, and Kadon.
