Verna Lou Deason

Verna Jacobs Deason, age 90, of Julian Road passed away at 6:10 AM Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, June 10, 2019, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with burial to follow in New Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, Hopkinsville.

Mrs. Deason was born in Christian County, KY on July 18, 1928, the daughter of late George Washington and Ola Johnson Jacobs.  She retired, after 32 years, from Thomas Industries as a Shipping Inspector. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Jewel “Jude” Deason in 1989; her granddaughter, Amy Deason Patterson in 1996; her sister, Margie Draper in 2018.

Survivors include her sons, Eddie Carroll Deason and his wife Kathy of Christian County, and Larry Dean Deason of Greenville, KY; her daughters, Martha Louise Littlefield and her husband Larry of Savannah, TN, and Linda Ann Hunter of Gracey, KY; her sister, Mary Ann Dunn of Hopkinsville; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
