Steve Turner, age 72, of Hopkinsville passed away on Saturday, March 11 2023, at Bradford Heights Nursing and Rehab of natural causes. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM Thursday, March 16, 2023. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Turner was born in Hopkinsville, KY on February 18, 1951, to George Douglas and Irene Griffin Turner. Steve was a self-employed Certified Public Accountant and was a member of Kelly Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Doris Turner of Hopkinsville; his son, Wade Turner and his wife Casey Hopkinsville; his daughter, Jill Slaughter and her husband Jeff of Pembroke, KY; his brothers, Doug Turner of Clarksville, TN, Glenn Turner of Johnson City, TN; his sisters, Judy Hamby of Gulf Shores, AL, Peggy Vass of Clarksville, TN; four grandchildren, Zach Frommel, Kaitlyn Austin, Bryson Turner, Beckett Turner; 5 great grandchildren, Steven Frommel, Weston Lucht, Braydon Frommel, Hazel Frommel and Addy Jo Austin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 or to the UHA Baseball Program, c/o University Heights Academy, 1300 Academy Way, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
