Sherri Boyd Newton

Sherri Boyd Newton, age 62, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Macedonia Baptist Church with Brother Dale Ward and Brother Barry Williams officiating and burial to follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home Friday, January 27, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements. 

Mrs. Newton was born on September 2, 1960, in Christian County, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Lucy T. Phipps Boyd. She retired after 40-plus years in banking. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Her grandchildren and the church were a very important part of Sherri’s life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Boyd.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Andy Newton of Hopkinsville; her son, Andrew Newton and his wife Cindy of Hopkinsville; her twin sister, Terri Borders and her husband Larry of Gallatin, TN; her sister, Mona Boyd of Hopkinsville; her two grandchildren, Drew Newton and Sara Beth Newton.

Your attention and anticipation of Grammy’s needs greatly assisted her peaceful transition and gave comfort to all of us.
