Robert G. Junker, age 96, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at Christian Health Center of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. R Neely Owen officiating and burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Robert was born on April 29, 1924, in Trimont, Minnesota, to the late Arthur H. and Ruby D. Love Junker. He retired from Waldron, Batey, & Wade as a draftsman. Robert served in the United States Army and was a WWII veteran. While in the army he received both the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and one of the founding members. He was a lifetime member of the DAV. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Roland Junker, Arthur Junker, Jr., Duane Junker; and one sister, Arlene Ranby.
Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Ruby L. Adams Junker of Hopkinsville, his two daughters, Sharon Beal and her husband George T. of Griffin, Georgia, Vickie Harris and her husband Danny R. of Eddyville, KY; his two brothers, Roger Junker and his wife Nancy of Hopkinsville, Dale Junker and his wife Fran of Henderson, KY; his one sister, Jo Ann Seward of Picken, IL; his four grandchildren, Stacey Cornette, Bobby Harris, Jennifer Comisford, John Beal; and his three great grandchildren, Haley Cornette, Taylor Cornette, and Silas Harris.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his honor to the Faith Lutheran Church.
