Raymond C. Spurlin

Raymond C. Spurlin, age 69, of Pembroke, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, August 27, 2021, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with Rev. Richard Sexton officiating and burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home in Hopkinsville on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, from 11:00 AM until the service hour at 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements. 

Mr. Spurlin was born in Elkton, KY, on March 13, 1952, the son of the late Bailey and Gladys Spurlin. He retired from Agri-Chem as a semi-truck driver. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church where he held the office of Deacon. He loved to share Christ with those he met. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, William Spurlin and his sister, Frances Searget.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sandra Scott Spurlin of Pembroke; his son, Matthew Thomas Spurlin and his wife Rachel of Hopkinsville; his daughter, Christy Gee of Herndon; his brothers, James Spurlin of TX, Billy Spurlin of KY, Jimmy Spurlin of KY; his sisters, Linda Sullivan of GA, Brenda Dixon of KY; and his eight grandchildren, Austin, Emalee, Garrett, Ethan, Paxton, Luke, Lydia, and Sophia.
