Norris G. Grant, age 95, of Spring Hill, FL, formerly of Cadiz, KY, passed away Tuesday April 25, 2017, at The Residence at Timber Pines in Spring Hill, FL, of natural causes. Funeral Services will be Saturday April 29, 2017, at 9:00 AM at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Crawford officiating with burial following at 10:00 AM in Green Hill Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Visitation will be Friday April 28, 2017, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Norris was born February 2, 1922 in Cadiz, KY, to the late Jack and Bessie Gresham Grant. He was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and is a recipient of the Purple Heart for injuries sustained during the war. Norris was a line printer for the Kentucky New Era and St. Louis Post Dispatch in St. Louis, MO, for most of his working career. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Geneva Taylor Grant who passed in 1995; two children Brooksie Ann Grant and Zandra Leigh Grant; two brothers Jessie Grant and Willie Jack Grant; two sisters Addie Jane Noel and Emma Julia Dixon; and two grandchildren Heather Wolf and Wayne Creed.
He is survived by one son Ronald G. Grant and Theresa of Spring Hill, FL; two daughters Jeannette Joiner and her husband Donald of Hopkinsville, KY, Deanie Nichols and her husband Nick of O’Fallon, IL; ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and thirteen great great grandchildren.
