Ann Smithson Campbell age 85, of Christian County, passed away on August 14, 2020, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Pastors Paul Ganther and Rachel Ganther officiating with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Campbell was born in Christian County, KY on August 7, 1935, the daughter of the late William Carver Smithson and Alice Cayce Smithson. Ann was a retired secretary and treasurer of Pennyrile Ag Oil and had retired as a bookkeeper from Planters Hardware Company. She graduated from South Christian High School and Bethel College. Ann was a lifetime member of Liberty Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Elton Wayne “Hap” Campbell Sr. of Christian County; her sons, Elton Wayne Campbell Jr., and Johnny (Molly) Campbell of Hopkinsville; her daughter, Karen Webb of Louisville, KY; her sisters, Mary Alice Simning of Christian County, KY and Martha “Lucy” (John) Schrecker of Hopkinsville, KY; her brother, Robert “Bobby” Carver (Brenda) Smithson of Christian County, KY; six grandchildren, William Clay Edwards (Nikki), Lauren Elizabeth Campbell, Evan Cayce Campbell, Claire Margaret Campbell, Nicholas Wayne Webb(Allison) and Bryce Campbell Webb and two great grandchildren, Malia Gale Webb and Bryer Wayne Webb.
