Mary Elizabeth Partain, age 91, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Christian Care Communities of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 1:30 PM on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Wade Miller officiating and burial to follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Sunday, May 15, 2022, from 12:00 Noon until the service hour at 1:30 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mrs. Partain was born in Sumter, South Carolina, on June 10, 1930, the daughter of the late Eli and Lena Outlaw Hunter. She was the co-owner of Mary Ellen Catering Service and co-owner of Metcalfe Floral Company. Mary was a member of First Christian Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and as a Duplicate Bridge player, she achieved Life Master status. In addition to her parents she, is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Albert Louis Partain, Sr.; her son-in-laws, Mike Powell and Doug Carpenter; her brother-in-law, S.A. Partain; and her sister-in-law, Almeda Partain.
Survivors include her son, Bert Partain and his wife Julie of Hopkinsville; her daughters, Sandy Carpenter of Hopkinsville, Mindy Sturm and her husband Jeff of Paducah, Christy Powell of Elkton, and Libby Loftus and her husband Kenny of Hopkinsville; her grandchildren, Mike Carpenter, Lisa Langford, Casey Finchum, Kody Carpenter (Beth), Beth Poore (Andy), Jeffery Sturm (Amanda), Brad Wade (Whitney), Heather Powell, Miles Powell (Ashley), Spencer Loftus (Anna), Logan Loftus, Alyson Taylor (Brandon); and 12 great grandchildren.
