Marvalee P. Cavanah, age 98, of Christian County, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Brother Chuck Poe officiating and burial to follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mrs. Cavanah was born in Christian County, KY, on October 17, 1922, the daughter of the late Dennis Marvin and Nancy Helen Hurt Phipps. Marvalee was a homemaker. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan Cavanah in 1976; her brother Johnny Phipps ; her sisters, Nathalie Stone, Beulah Baugher and Lucy T. Boyd.
Survivors include her son, Keith Cavanah and his wife Martha of Christian County; her daughter, Judy Cavanah Dulin and her husband Jim of Hopkinsville; three grandchildren, Clay Cavanah, Whitney Holland and her husband Matt, Lacey Dulin; four great grandchildren, Aiden Cavanah, Riley Cavanah, Bennett Holland and Baylor Holland.
