Martha Marion, age 82, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Jubilee House in Clarksville of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. David Harrison and Pastor Paul Bunger officiating and burial to follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour at 11:00 AM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mrs. Marion was born in Hopkinsville, KY, on April 5, 1939, the daughter of the late Raymond Lewis and Ollie Bethel Cowan Norman. Martha retired from JC Penny. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Granville Bilbo Thompson, her second husband, Henry “Hank” C. Marion; her daughter, Donna Mae McGehee; her brothers, Lewis Ray Norman, Charles Ray Norman, and Franklin D. Norman; and her sister, Janie Grace-Cross.
Survivors include her sons, Granville “Butch” Thompson, Jr. and his wife Gayla of Crofton, Roger Lewis Thompson and his wife Rhonda of Cadiz; her daughters, Ann Thompson Sutton and her husband Jeff of Hopkinsville, Linda Parker of Oak Grove, Karen Blane and her husband Mike of Herndon; her sisters, Nancy Marshall and her husband Ken of Ocala, FL, Lois Jean Sholar of Versailles, KY; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
