Peggy S Hopson

Peggy S. Hopson, age 86, of Cadiz, KY passed away at 9:13 PM on Friday, April 13, 2018, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Cadiz of natural causes. Graveside Services will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery West with burial to follow. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
Peggy was born in Spartanburg, SC, on February 29, 1932, to the late Virgil McLaurin and Margaret Elizabeth Wilson Scott. She was a bookkeeper for Thrif-T Drugs for many years and a homemaker. She was a member of Canton Baptist Church. She was a member of the Reader’s Guild and Town and Country Homemakers Club. She was a Sunday School teacher for over 30 years at 1st Baptist Church and founder of 1st Baptist Church Daycare.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, John Hopson of Cadiz, KY; her daughters, Ellen Crowson and her husband Jim of Clarksville, TN, Kay Bond and her husband James of Navarre, FL; four grandchildren and one great grandson.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Baptist Church in Hopkinsville or to Pennyroyal Hospice.
