Loys “Otto” Keatts, age 88, of Christian County, passed away Friday, February 19, 2021, in Nashville, TN, of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Byler and Rev. Jeremy Hayes officiating and burial to follow in Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

Mr. Keatts was born October 11, 1932, in Christian County, the son of the late James Otto and Simmie Burchett Keatts. Otto was a farmer, a retired City of Hopkinsville employee for the cemetery and landfill, a 20 plus year employee for Maddux Funeral Home, an employee for US Smokeless Tobacco, and worked at the Fairview Produce Auction. He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Otto was a founding member of Honey Grove Volunteer Fire Department and Fairview Fire Department for over 30 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Lillian Johnson Keatts in 2007.

Survivors include his foster sons, Mike Hayes and Johnny Hayes both of Christian County; his foster daughter, Cheryl Hayes Jones and her husband David of Christian County; his sister, Susie Keatts Dawson of Christian County; nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made in his memory to Honey Grove Volunteer Fire Department, Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, or New Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
