Linda “Betsy” Bond Joiner, age 81, of Pembroke, KY, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Maddux Funeral Home in Pembroke with Carolyn Kisler officiating. Burial will follow in Pembroke, KY at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday July 9, 2019, at Maddux Funeral Home in Pembroke.
Mrs. Joiner was born in Pembroke, KY on May 9, 1938, the daughter of the late Billie and Mary Wakefield Bond. She was a School Teacher and librarian in Christian County Public Schools. She was a lifetime member of Pembroke Christian Church where she was heavily involved. Betsy was a member of the Homemakers Club, a 4-H Leader, worked and volunteered at Pennyroyal Area Museum. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Wallace Bond; and her sister, Mae Mason.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Daniel Joiner of Pembroke; her son, Cliff Joiner and his wife Tina of Pembroke; her daughters, Mary Beth Platen and her husband Tom of Cincinnati, OH, Emily Guier and her husband Marty of Robards, KY; her sister, Margaret Moss of Hopkinsville, KY; her sister-in-law, LaRue Bond of Memphis, TN; and five grandchildren, Daniel Joiner, Ethan Platen, Rebekah Platen, Elizabeth Guier, and James Guier.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Pembroke Christian Church or Pennyroyal Area Museum.
