Lida Dodson Conkle

Lida Dodson Conkle, age 84, of Pembroke, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Pembroke United Methodist Church with Pastor Gary Templeman officiating and burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements. 

Mrs. Conkle was born in Gallatin, TN, on February 16, 1937, the daughter of the late J.T. and Eddie Zepp Jackson Dodson. Lida worked for many years as a High School Teacher. She was a member of Pembroke United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Methodist women and also a pianist for the church. She served on the Library Board for the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library and a member of the Pembroke homemaker’s group. Lida was a devout Christian, loving wife, caring mother, wonderful grandmother and fantastic woman.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Charles B. Conkle of Pembroke, KY; her son, Ed Conkle and his wife Karen of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; her daughter, Carolyn Conkle Goerger and her husband Terry of Mantador, North Dakota; and her grandson, Christopher Edward Conkle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Pembroke United Methodist Church.
