Lewis B. Berry, age 100, of Pembroke, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Memorial Services will be at 6:00 PM on Monday, November 9, 2020, at Maddux Funeral Home in Pembroke with Dr. David Gardner officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Monday, November 9, 2020 at Maddux-Funeral Home in Pembroke with Masonic Rites beginning at 5:45 PM.
Mr. Berry was born on June 11, 1920, in Fairview, Kentucky, the son of the late Lewis F. and Opal Fritz Berry. Lewis retired as a mechanical engineer for Duraco. He was a Master Sergeant and Crew Chief in the US Army where he served during WWII and he was part of the 44th Bomb Squad. He was a member of Pembroke United Methodist Church, 33rd Degree Shriner Mason and a member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Pease Berry; his sons, Edward A. Berry, and Robert L. Berry; his granddaughter, Carole Mann; and his sister, Roberta Berry Kachner.
Survivors include his sons, John W. Berry and his wife Amy of Pembroke, and Michael J. Berry of Pembroke; his grandchildren, John Michael Berry, Kyle William Berry, John David Berry, Laura Berry Neighbors, Chris Berry, Stanley Berry, Dawn Berry, Becky Berry Alley, and Jennifer Berry Seaford; and seven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his honor to the American Heart Association or Shriner’s Hospital.
