Lander V Cornell

Lander V. Cornell, of Pembroke, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021, at Christian Health Center of natural causes. The family has chosen cremation with a Celebration of Life Service to be at 6:00 PM Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

   Mr. Cornell was born in Pembroke, KY, on April 23, 1949, the son of the late Warren G. and Naomi Ford Cornell. Lander worked for over 30 years in the funeral service industry before his retirement in late 2020 from Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home and Maddux Funeral Home in Pembroke. He took great pride in maintaining the grounds at both facilities and loved serving the families and guests that arrived as an ambassador. He also worked for Coca-Cola for many years as a delivery driver prior to his funeral service industry career. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his brother, Randell Cornell; his sister, Linda Bell Jones; and his step-son Mike Hayes.

   Survivors include his son, Bobby Cornell of Pembroke; his step-daughter, Debbie Nunn of Clarksville, TN; and his brother, Marshal Cornell and his wife, Marie of Manor, KY.
