Julian Ray Newton, Jr., age 64, of Elkton, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022, at his home of natural causes. Graveside services will be at 1:00pm Friday, March 11, 2022, at Flatlick Cemetery with burial to follow. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Newton was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, on March 25, 1957, the son the late Julian Ray Newton, Sr. and Betty Smith Newton. Julian worked as a mechanic with small engine repair for years and later construction with John Oliver Builders Drywall. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, Jenifer Rae Santos; his brothers, Woodrow “Junior” Benson, Charles “Charlie” Newton; and his sisters, Linda Newton, Beverly Hoban, and Doris Abbott.
Survivors include his sons, Julian Ray Newton, III of Sharon Grove, Raymond Newton and his wife Kathy, of Hopkinsville; his step-son, William Cowen of Greenville, KY; his daughter, Danielle Newton of Pennsylvania; his step-daughters, Marlena Proctor, of Clifty, KY, Macy Cowen, of Morgantown, KY; his brother, Frank Smith and his wife Sharon, of Tennessee; his sisters, Betty Davis, of Pennsylvania, Martha Pifer and her husband Andy, of Kentucky, Barbara Clacker, of Pennsylvania, Brenda Anderson, of Kentucky, Judy Goddard, of Kentucky, Candy Glover and her husband Larry, of Pennsylvania, Mary Powell and her husband Bernice, of Greenville, KY, Margaret Tucker and her husband Roger, of Elkton, KY; and nine grandchildren.
