Johnny Rex Tatum Sr.

Johnny Rex Tatum, Sr., age 86, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 5:30 PM on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Maddux- Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
   
   Mr. Tatum was born on August 3, 1934, in Hopkinsville, KY, the son of the late Claude and Esther Lee Green Tatum. He was a self-employed mason and loved fishing and being outdoors. He was of the Baptist Faith.in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Russell, Dick, and Louis Tatum; and his sister, Dorothy Wells.

   Survivors include sons, Johnny Rex Tatum, Jr. of Hopkinsville, and Rocky Tatum of Hopkinsville; his daughters, Kathy Garland of Hopkinsville, and Betty Ellis of Hopkinsville; his brother, James C. Tatum and his wife Opal of Hopkinsville; his sisters, Paulette P’Pool and her husband Ted of Hopkinsville, Peggy Reed and her husband Willard of Davenport, FL, and Patsy Hancock and her husband Henry of LaFayette; his four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

   In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his honor to the Christian County Animal Shelter.
