John Thomas Voshel, age 67, of Herndon, KY, passed away on January 23, 2020, at Vanderbilt Medical Center of natural causes. Memorial Service will be 1:00 PM Friday, February 7, 2020, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Brother Ray Ainslie officiating, with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West with full military honors. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
Mr. Voshel was born in Grand Haven, Michigan on December 1, 1952, the son of the late Jack and Carol Potterton Shirlaw Voshel. He was a retired electrical salesman for Kendall in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was of the Catholic Faith and served in the United States Navy. John was also the past president of the Wyoming Michigan Jaycees, and the Michigan and Kentucky JCI Senate.
Survivors include his wife of twelve and a half years, Karen Y. Kopp Voshel of Herndon, KY; his brother, Geoffrey Voshel and his wife, Elizabeth of Kalamazoo, MI; his sister, Jill Roberts and her husband, Gene of Spring Lake, MI and Julie Voshel and her spouse Sherry Hanson of Minneapolis, MN and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
