John A. Moss

         John A. Moss, age 89, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020, at his home of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, with Rev. David Harrison officiating and burial to follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, November 13, 2020, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
   Mr. Moss was born on November 20, 1930, in Christian County, to the late Thomas and Myrtle Griffey Moss. He was a veteran in the US Army during the Korean War. John was a farmer and an NTPA official for Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama from the early 70’s until 1999. He was an active member of Concord Baptist Church. He was also a leader of the Christian County 4-H where he was a tractor school instructor from 1980-1997. John was also on the Selective Service Board, American Legion and the Eagles. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Jones Moss in 2007;his son, Steve Dale Jones; his brother, Thomas Moss; his sisters, Margaret Polete and Elizabeth Dahmers.
   Survivors include his sons, Jerry Moss of Hendersonville, TN, and Jonathon Moss of Christian County; his daughters, Debra Saturley of Dickson, TN and Jennifer Cowherd of Christian County; his sisters, Sue Boguskie of Hopkinsville, and Cynthia Moss of Dickson, TN; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his honor to Concord Baptist Church at Concord Lane Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
