Jimmie Dale "Jimmy" Hurt

Jimmy Hurt, age 76, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Christian Care Communities of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Chaplin Reed Shepherd officiating and burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Monday, October 11, 2021, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements. 

Mr. Hurt was born in Todd County, KY, on October 13, 1944, the son of the late Walker Dale and Zelma Christine Dixon Hurt. He worked at McGhee’s Pest Control and retired after 30 years as a pest control technician. Following retirement, Jimmy was a custodian at Christian County High School. Mr. Hurt served in the US Army Reserves. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Patsy Harris and Linda Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Hurt of Hopkinsville; his son, Brian Hurt and his wife Crystal of Central City, KY; his daughter, Natalie Hurt of Hopkinsville; two grandchildren, Hannah Hurt and Noah Hurt; and one great grandson, Cole Sisk.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to American Cancer Society.
