Clayton Boyd, Jr.

Clayton Boyd, age 80, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Bro. Josh Powell officiating and burial to follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour at 2:00 P.M. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

Mr. Boyd was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky on July 18, 1941, the son of the late Jewell Clayton and Mary Louise Quarles Boyd. Clayton retired from Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire Company. He was a member of Kelly Baptist Church, the Civitan Club and Sons of American Revolution. He loved working on family history and feeding the wildlife around his home. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Janet Bowers Boyd in 2008; sister, Dottie Woodhouse; sister-in-laws, Patricia Rives and Cynthia Sue Bowers; and his brother-in-law, George Bowers Jr.

Survivors include his niece, Cindy Stagner and her husband Lucas of Hopkinsville; niece, Natalie Pyle and her husband Mark of Hopkinsville; nephew, George Bowers III of Pembroke, KY; sister-in-law, Teresa Bowers of Pembroke, KY; one great niece, Kimberly Hyde (Kyle Graves) of Hopkinsville; three great nephews, Jacob Hyde of Hopkinsville; Ryan Pyle of Louisville, KY; and Evan Pyle of Hopkinsville; two great-great nephews, Mason and Logan Hyde of Hopkinsville, a gained great niece, Katie Martin of Hopkinsville, KY; and a host of friends whom he considered family.
