Jerry Dean Proffit

Jerry Dean Proffit, age 74, of Hopkinsville passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family has entrusted Maddux Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home with the care of their loved one.

Mr. Proffit was born December 31, 1947 in Jolo, West Virginia, the son of the late George Proffit and Etta Smith Proffit. He was retired from the United States Army where he served in The Korean and Vietnam War. He was also retired from Brazeway. Mr. Proffit was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son, James Edward Proffit; his brothers, Art Proffit, James Proffit, Jack Proffit, Ted Proffit; his sisters, Maxine Hagerman, Marie Proffit, Joan Mullins, and Betty Proffit Cline.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Proffit of Hopkinsville; his daughter, Lisa Owens and her husband Brian, of Trenton; his brothers, Bill Proffit and his wife Diane, of Ohio, Roger Proffit and his wife Venita, of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
