Jeanne Marie Simmons

Jeanne “Memaw” Simmons, age 89, of Hopkinsville passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, at her home of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 3, 2022, at Maddux Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with burial to follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Maddux Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home in Hopkinsville Monday, October 3, 2022; from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

Mrs. Simmons was born in Lowell, MA, on March 11, 1933, the daughter of the late Donat Arture and Yvonne Bourgeois Maher. Jeanne worked at Jennie Stuart Medical Center and Elk Brand. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Edward Simmons in 1992; three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her son Larry Simmons of Hopkinsville; her daughter, Brenda Lee Alsobrook and her husband Jeff of Princeton; her sister, Lorraine Champoux of Lowell, MA; her grandchildren, Heather Simmons, Christian Gill, Caleb Gill, Brandy Simmons, Randall Simmons; and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Pennyroyal Hospice, 220 Burley Avenue, Hopkinsville, KY 42240, or to St. Jude’s Children Hospital at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
