Jarod Thomas Cherry, age 76, of Elmo Road, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019, at his home of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 9, 2019, at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Arvin officiating and burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 1:30 PM on Monday, September 9, 2019, at Salem Baptist Church with a Masonic Service following the visitation at 1:30 PM until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Cherry was born in Pembroke, KY, on September 21, 1942, to the late Thomas and Blanche Rafferty Cherry. He was a member of Salem Baptist church where he was a Deacon. He was a farmer and a member of the Oak Grove Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of 3 years, Janie J. Harris-Cherry of Pembroke; his daughter, Jada Sager and her husband Mark of Alexandra, VA; his two step daughters, Ruth Hawes and her husband Lucius of Hopkinsville, Sherry Byerline of Pembroke, KY; one sister, June Schreiner and Mobile, AL; his three grandchildren, Jeremy Sager, Nathan Sager, Kevin Pierce; and his five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his honor to either Pennyroyal Hospice or Salem Baptist Church.
