Janie Laverne Sauteben

Janie Laverne Sauteben, age 94 of Camilla Drive passed away Friday, April 12, 2019
at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM
Monday, April 15, 2019 at Blue Spring Baptist Church in Caldwell County, KY with Rev.
Ronnie Sivells officiating with burial to follow in Blue Spring Baptist Church Cemetery. 
Visitation hours will be from 3–5 PM, Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Maddux Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home.
Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sauteben was born September 12, 1924 on the family farm in Lamasco, KY, the
daughter of the late Daniel Boone “DB” and Hattie Louise Hall Gray.  She worked at SH Kress
as a Sales Supervisor for 33 years. Laverne had previously worked at Joiner Hardware in
Princeton, KY.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Orbie Hopson Stone; her
second husband, Edison Sauteben; her grandson, Sean Leigh Stone; her brother, Daniel
Preston Gray; her sisters, Minnie Emalene Coleman, Bonnie Louise Metcalfe, Lillie Frances Gray,
in infancy, and Jessie Irene Gray.

Survivors include her son; Orbie Eugene “Gene” Stone and his fiancé Alice Raye Roberts of Wylie, TX;
her daughter, Janice Elaine Sholar and her husband William “Bill”; her sister Mamie Lurlene Burkhart
of Hixson, TN;  four grandchildren, James Keller Stone, John Michael Clark, Amanda Jill Clark Lancaster,
Brandi Laine Clark Abney; great grandchildren, Zoe Clark, Kendal Lancaster, Tanner Lancaster and Ethan Abney.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to First Baptist Church, 1400
South Main Street, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
