Jana Allyne Hughes Cope, 63 of Irish Circle, died September 15, 2018 at her home following a brief illness.
The body will be cremated. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Per her request, there will be no visitation. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
A native of Christian County, she was born June 21, 1955, the daughter of the late Ray Bryant Hughes and Viola Christine Hughes.
She was retired from the Christian County Board of Education, most recently as a teacher at South Christian Elementary School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Cynthia “Cindy” McGuire.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Cope, Hopkinsville; her daughter, Meagan (Tyler) Askew, Pembroke; her sisters, Sheryl (Eldridge) Rogers, Paula (Clyde) Lile, and Lisa (the late Jim) Perrin, all of Christian County; her brother, Thomas (Jan) Hughes; her step daughter, Cathy Cope (Brent) Swiney, Huntersville, N.C., her step son, Clay(Claire) Cope, Waterloo, Ontario Canada; her brother in law, Stuart Cope, Lexington; and six grandchildren, Bryce, Gracyn, and Westyn Askew, Lauren Cope, and Nicholas and Evan Swiney.
