Gayla Wade Harned, age 87, of Hopkinsville passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, at her home of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Maddux Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home with Brother Mike Stokes officiating and burial to follow in New Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mrs. Harned was born in Christian County, KY, on March 3, 1935, the daughter of the late William “Bill” Wade and Eva Katherine (Wright) Wade. Gayla was retired from Flynn Enterprise. She was a member of Fruit Hill Baptist Church. She was a volunteer at the Highland Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Herman Harned; her daughter, Stephanie Young; her brothers, Woodrow Wade and Russell Wade.
Survivors include her son, Herman Eugene Harned and his wife Bonlou of Hopkinsville; her daughter, Becky Saddler of Hopkinsville; her brother, Donnie Wade, of Tennessee; her stepmother, Mabel Wade of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
