Dr. Franklin Alexander Nash, Jr., age 87, of Hopkinsville, passed away on February 17, 2020 at his home of natural causes. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at St. John United Methodist Church at 6:30 PM. Visitiation will be on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery in Walnut, MS on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 1:00 PM.
Dr. Nash was born on December 6, 1932, in Vicksburg, MS, the son of the late Franklin Alexander and Dorothy Heidt Nash. In 1954, Frank was commissioned in the United States Air Force as a pilot trainee. In 1962, he was ordained an elder in the Methodist Church at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. He ultimately retired as an elder from the Northwest Conference of the United Methodist Church. He ministered in churches in Idaho, Washington State, and Mississippi. He also served as the Minister of Congregational Care at St. John United Methodist Church for more than 40 years. He received his Doctor of Philosophy at Washington State University and worked as a psychologist at Pennyroyal Mental Health Center for 25 years. Frank was also a member of the Hopkinsville Athenaeum Society. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were his wife of 61 years, Laura Annette Nash and his three sisters, Ruby Nash, Dorothy Barott, and Mildred Ann Cobb.
Survivors include his daughter, Lara Lee Nash Campbell of Hopkinsville; his two grandchildren, Ashlee Campbell, and Alexandria Campbell; his two nephews, Robert C. Barott of West Richmond, WA, Tim Cobb of Memphis, TN; and his niece, Ruby Ann Nash Maplesden of Benton City, WA.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his honor to St. John United Methodist Church at 2808 South Virginia Street, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
