Evelyn Marie Dossett, age 92 of Hopkinsville passed away 4:04 AM Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Bradford Heights Nursing Home of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, Hopkinsville with Brother Donnie Blick officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dossett was born April 26, 1926 in Christian County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Robert Mayes and Mattie Davis Overton. She managed the coffee shop at Jennie Stuart Medical Center and a member of Kelly Baptist Church. Evelyn was preceded in death by her sons, Robert “Bobby” Dillingham in 2015 and James W. Dillingham, Jr in 2017; her son-n- laws, Edwin Elgin and Lanny Burch; and five brothers.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Sue Burch of Hopkinsville, Dianne M. Fort and her husband, Wayne of Hopkinsville, and Janice Elgin of Hopkinsville; her daughter-in-law, Diana Dillingham of Cottontown, TN; six grandchildren; Shannon Burch, Lanna Hancock, Jayson Cansler, Jaymie Rogers, Cindy Messick, and Misty Vaughn; seventeen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
