Ardell Shanklin Hayes, age 94, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, and burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Saturday, July 23, 2022, from 10:00 AM until the service hour at 12:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements. 

Mrs. Hayes was born in Hopkinsville, KY, on February 27, 1928, the daughter of the late Emory Elwood Shanklin and Nellie Eva Camp Shanklin. She worked at the original Planters bank for over 24 years as a teller and customer service clerk. Ardell was a member of Vaughns Grove Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Thurston Carroll Hayes; her son, Danny Hayes; and her daughter, Patricia Hayes.

Survivors include her daughters, Diane H Parker (Bill), of Acworth, GA, Deborah Jones, of Honey Grove, KY; her daughter-in-law, Karen Raye Hayes-Ritchie, of Hopkinsville, KY; six grandchildren, Kelly (Denise) Jones, Christy (Tim) Fields, Brooke (Jake) Robitzsch, Jeremy (Candy) Hayes, Vanessa Parker-McIntyre, Dana (Jeremy) Hale; 13 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
