Eddie Dennis Poe Sr

Eddie D. Poe, Sr., age 79, of Christian County, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at his home of natural causes. Private graveside funeral services will be at a later date in Flat Lick Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements. 

Mr. Poe was born in Praise, KY on October 14, 1941, the son of the late Dennis Poe and Gustie Poe King. He was a self-employed carpenter most of his life and then retired from Western State Hospital maintenance department. Eddie attended the Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to his parents, Eddie is preceded in death by his brothers, Edgar, Ephram and James Poe; his sisters, Christine Miller and Gloria Gallagher.

   Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ina Mae Looney Poe of Hopkinsville; his son, Eddie D. Poe, Jr. of Hopkinsville; his daughter, Debbie Poe of Hopkinsville; his sister, Sharlene Yeager and her husband John of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Blake Cardwell, Tiffany Johnson, Victoria Poe, Miranda Poe, and Gavin Belcher; and three great grandchildren, Maelynn Johnson, Sophia Johnson, and Bentley Dossett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to St. Jude Children Hospital or Church of God of Prophecy at 1235 Blooming Grove Road, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
