Dorris Elvie West

Dorris West, age 89, of Hopkinsville passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 at his home of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Neil Immel officiating and burial to follow in Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

   Mr. West was born May 12, 1934, in Christian County, KY the son of the late Elvie E. and Beulah Mae Perkins West. He was a farmer and worker at Moelight, Ebonite, and Thomas Industry. Dorris was a veteran of the US Army National Guard and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Joyce West in 2017; and his step-daughter, Sherry Miller.

   Survivors include his wife of five years, Elvira L. Baker-West of Elkton; his sons, Danny Edward West of Pembroke, and Dewayne West of Cadiz; his step-son, Dwaine Oatts of Florida; his four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
