Dennis A. Tinsley, age 89, of McKinney, TX, formerly of Hopkinsville, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at McKinney Health Care & Rehab in McKinney, TX, of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Dale Combs officiating and burial to follow in Flat Lick Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
Mr. Tinsley was born in Hopkinsville, KY, on October 17, 1928 to the late Cecil and Leona Hancock Tinsley. Dennis was retired in 1991 from Bob Tomes Ford in McKinney, TX, as a car salesman. He grew up a member of Flat Lick Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a member at Branch Baptist Church in Branch, TX. He is also preceded in death by his 1st wife, Mary Elizabeth Hancock Tinsley; his 2nd wife, Jennie Webb Tinsley; his two sons, Larry R. Tinsley and Michael W. Tinsley, Sr.; his step-daughter, Becky Folsom; his four brothers Delward, Carlos, Dewey, and Ben Tinsley; and his sister Daisy Ezell.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandy Southall and her husband Myers of Hopkinsville; his son J. Todd Tinsley and his wife Diane of Plano, TX; his step son Jim Webb and his wife Jan of McKinney, TX; his step son-in-law Richard Folsom; ten grandchildren, Michael Wayne Tinsley, Jr., Christine Ilfrey, J.T. Tinsley, Jr., D.J. Mullen, Angela Yaun, Kristi Ward, Jeanna Webb, Jennifer Jowers, Trey Webb, and Jeri Beth King Harris; and one great grandchild, Sage Ilfrey.
