Delmon “Cowboy” Henderson, age 84, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, at his home. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Ross Littlepage and Rev. Kurt Zander officiating and burial to follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 12:00 PM Noon until the service hour at 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Cowboy was born in Hopkinsville, KY, on October 12, 1937, the son of the late Huel and Jennie Spurlin Henderson. Cowboy was a deputy for the Christian County Sherriff Department for over 20 years. He also worked at Houchens and the Christian County Jail and was a deputy constable for Christian County. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Geneva Henderson; his brothers, Elmer, Billy and Glendal Henderson; and his sister, Annis Marie Johnson.
Survivors include his son, Donnie (Denise) Henderson of Hopkinsville; his daughter, Sherri Guinn of Hopkinsville; his brother, Ronald (Shirley) Henderson of Hopkinsville; five grandchildren, Ashley Tejada, Heather Guinn Wilson, Stephanie Guinn, Brandon Henderson, Bradley Henderson; and four great grandchildren, Jazmira Tejada, Jae’lyn Tejada, Alayna Wilson, and James Ryan Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Pennyroyal Hospice 220 Burley Avenue Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
