Della "Nana" Mae May

Della “Nana” Mae May, age 68, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Maddux Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home, and burial to follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be at Maddux Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home Friday, January 27, 2023, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements. 

Mrs. May was born on May 23, 1954, the daughter of the late Walter Petrie Combs and Amy Almont Hill Combs Williams. She worked 10 years as a patient aid at Western State Hospital and 10 years as a truck driver for Digby Trucking Company. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Nancy Trumpter, Shirley Calvin, and Dorothy Combs.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Steven May; her sons, Merrill Melvin Hansley Jr. and his wife Jessica of Utah, Christopher Dale Hansley and his wife Jennifer of Christian County; her third son, Donovan Lee Cooper of Christian Co.; her brother, James Walter Combs and his wife Cheryl of Christian County; her sister, Jeanette Hancock and her husband Gary of Tennessee; her grandchildren, Cody, Mercades, Corey, Lexie, Sky, Michael, Sasha; and her great-grandchildren, Eva, Breanna, Emilee, CJ, Adaline, Greyson, and Christopher.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army, PO Box 427, Hopkinsville, KY 42241.
