Daisy Lindsey Wells, age 84, of Owensboro, Kentucky, formally of Hopkinsville, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Heartland Villa in Owensboro of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Hopkinsville. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 16, 2017, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wells was born in Todd County, Kentucky on May 5, 1933, to the late Lucian and Viva Woosley Lindsey. She was preceded in death by her late husband of 61 years, Newell D. Wells, and her brothers Gather Dorris Lindsey and Loyd Dilmon Lindsey. Mrs. Wells was a wonderful and full time mother to her two children, heavily involved in their lives and school activities. She dedicated her life to the well-being and education of her children. Later in life and after they both had left home, she became a licensed Kentucky Real Estate agent for Crick Realtors in Hopkinsville and Sales Associate at Pennyrile Mall.
Survivors include her son Michael D. Wells of Owensboro, KY, her daughter Kathy Ann Wells Fox and her husband, Mark, of Philadelphia, PA: her brother Frankie Darrell Lindsey of Bowling Green, KY: three grandchildren, Mary Katherine Wells Rusher and her husband Phillip; Alyson Fox and Pierson Fox: her great grandchildren, Caroline Wells Rusher, Phillip Dale Rusher III, and William Grant Rusher. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and extended family members.
A special thanks to the staff at One Park Place Assisted Living Facility and Heartland Villa, both in Owensboro, for all their efforts and care for her in the final years of her life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society and Wounded Warriors.
