Cynthia “Cindy” Poe Latham, age 71, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at her home following a long battle with cancer . Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Edgewood Baptist Church with Rev. Nick Sandefur officiating and burial to follow at Francis Cemetery in Todd County. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, October 16, 2020, at Edgewood Baptist Church. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Latham was born in Todd County, KY, on July 27, 1949 , the daughter of the late William Glendle ”Shorty” and Ethel Mae Evans Poe. She was retired from the civil service at Ft. Campbell. Cindy was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, involved in the WMU, and a volunteer at the church for a long time. She was also a member of the Relay for Life, Civitan, and the Senior Bowling League. She helped feed at the Salvation Army and participated in the senior games at the Recreation Center. Cindy loved her family, playing cards, doing crafts, and she loved to travel. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death is her husband, Jerry Wallace Latham in 2000.
Survivors include her daughters, Dana Latham Walters and her husband Corry of Hopkinsville, and Pam Latham Parker and her husband Eric Todd of Hopkinsville; her sisters, Gloria Logan and her husband Jim of Hopkinsville, and Phyllis Blake of Hopkinsville; four grandchildren, Alexander Latham, Chris Parker, Zach Parker, and Kellie White; and five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her honor to the Edgewood Baptist Church, Relay 4-life (Poe Family), or Pennyrile Hospice.
