Gene Hensley

Gene Hensley, age 75, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020, at Baptist Health in Madisonville of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, with Brother Jesse Brown and Brother Jeffery Hensley officiating with burial to follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
Mr. Hensley was born on June 11, 1945, in Paintsville, KY, the son of the late Clarence and Rosie Mae Montgomery Hensley. He was a veteran in the US Army and a salesman. Gene was a member of Casky Baptist Church where he kept nursey for over 45 years with his wife. He loved to hunt with his son. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Pearl Elam.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Brenda Powell Hensley of Hopkinsville; his son, Jeff Hensley and his wife, Penny of Herndon; his daughter, Michelle Hensley Ertle and her husband, Paul of Paducah; his sisters, Dorothy Mullins and her husband, Jack of Florida and Mabell Pack of Ohio; four grandchildren, Jeffery Hensley, Kelsey Ertle, Katelyn Hensley, and Kayla Ertle.
