Clay Houchens, age 74, of Butler Road in Christian County, KY, passed away at 4:19 PM on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at his home of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Hayes officiating and burial to follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 until 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
Mr. Houchens was born in Christian County, on May 1, 1944, the son of the late William Carl Houchens and Kathryn Paige Jones. He was retired from Westate Construction where he was an equipment operator. Clay was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was also a member of Todd County Coon Association and the Quail Club. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Houchens.
Survivors include his two brothers, Ronnie Houchens and wife Cassandra of Christian County, KY, Roy Houchens and wife Patty of Christian County, KY; six sisters, Ilene Long of Christian County, KY, Elaine Perry and husband Raymond of Hopkinsville, KY, Janice Mayes and husband Donnie of Hopkinsville, KY, Linda Curtis and husband Bill of Hopkinsville, KY, Pamela Dill of Hopkinsville, KY, Kathy Marsh of Hopkinsville, KY, his longtime friend, Barbara Denny of Springfield, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
