Carlos “Buddy” Francis, II, age 84, of Hopkinsville, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022, at his residence of natural causes. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 17, 2022, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Brother Bobby Ashby officiating and burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 16, 2022. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Francis was born September 21, 1937, in Todd County, KY, the son of the late Carlos Lester Francis and Ruth Duvall Francis. For over 27 years Carlos served Hopkinsville as the Window Clerk for the United States Postal Service. He served in the United States Air Force for four years in Korea. He was of the Baptist faith. Carlos loved watching University of Kentucky basketball and NASCAR. He enjoyed playing backgammon, having card nights with family and loved to fish. He is preceded in death by his wife; Mardell Scott Francis, and his grandson, Carlos “Jason” Francis IV.
He is survived by his sons, Carlos “Butch” Francis III, of Arizona, Barry Glen Francis, of Hopkinsville; his daughter, Susan Ann Francis; his brothers, Bobby Francis, of Hopkinsville, Jerry Francis, of Cadiz, Ronnie Francis of Hopkinsville; his sister, Janice Hageman (Gene) of Hopkinsville; his grandchildren, Chelsey Miller (Eric), Ivy Francis, Marin Francis; and two great-grandchildren, Dallas Miller and Marley Miller.
