Betty Oatts Sutton

Betty Oatts Sutton, age 84, of Hopkinsville passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at her home of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Maddux Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home with Brother Brandon Boone officiating and burial to follow in Peaceful Meadows Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home Wednesday, March 23, 2022, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.


Mrs. Sutton was born in Detroit, MI, on April 3, 1937, the daughter of the late Hazel “MD” Oatts and Mary Lucile Oatts. Betty was a retired secretary for Christian County Public School System. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Joe Sutton; her daughter, Carol Ann Baker; her brother, Don Oatts; and her sisters, Shirley Colley and Linda Hayes.


Survivors include her grandchildren, Andrea Watkins, Amber Fisher, AJ Baker; her great-grandchildren Camerin Cole, Chandler Cole, Sarah Watkins, Callee Ann Fisher, Luke Watkins; and her great-great-grandchildren Analiese Austin and Lux Cole.
