Betty Jean Doss

Betty Jean Doss, age 86, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Millbrooke Christian Church with burial to follow in Riverside cemetery. Visitation will be at Millbrooke Christian Church from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 1, 2021. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements. 

Mrs. Doss was born in Crofton, KY, on November 7, 1934, the daughter of the late John H. and Louise Cook Hendrix. She retired from Bank of America as a bank teller and was a homemaker. Betty was a member of Millbrooke Christian Church where she served as organist for over 40 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Hendrix.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Charles “Al” Doss of Hopkinsville; her daughter, Alice Jean Doss of Hopkinsville; her sisters, Jenny Ladd and her husband Furman of Hopkinsville, and Ginger Lee and her husband Mark of Hopkinsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made in her memory to Millbrooke Christian Church.
