Bertha Blackburn, age 75, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at her home of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Cordero officiating and burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Friday, April 1, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mrs. Blackburn was born in Hopkinsville on September 25, 1946, the daughter of the late Ralph Austin and Mary Dickerson Rose. She was the co-owner of Al’s One Stop in Gracey for 10 years, worked at Phelps Dodge for 25 years and was a CNA for 15 years at Christian Health Center. Bertha was a member of Set Free Ministries. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Al Blackburn; her son, Ray Blackburn; and her brother, Marshall Austin.
Survivors include her son, Mancel Parker III, of Princeton, KY; her daughters, Sherry Bush of Camden, TN, and Casi Travis of Hopkinsville, KY; her brothers, Tommy Austin and his wife Tisha, of Hopkinsville, Jerry Austin, of Hopkinsville, Charles Austin and his wife Sarah, of Pembroke, Terry Austin, of Hopkinsville; her sister, Brenda Huddleston and her husband Roy, of Hopkinsville; her 7 grandchildren, Chase Bush, Carloss Bush, Ashley McKinney, Jason Parker, Graycen Travis, Addycen Travis, and Evelynn Raye Travis; and 1 great grandchild, Jesse Bush.
