Barbara “Boots” Pellum, age 84, of Roseville, CA, passed away on February 10, 2021, at her home of cancer. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM June 10, 2021, at New Barren Springs Cemetery with Brother Chuck Poe officiating. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Boots passed from terminal cancer on February 10th, 2021, in her home with her two daughters, Patti & Penny, her granddaughter Kessa and her puppies, Mr. T & Bossy. She was Born October 20, 1936 in Hopkinsville, Christian County, KY, the daughter of Mildred (Duvall) & Bernard Gamble.
Boots graduated from Lacy High School in 1955. She was a beloved sister to her two sisters, Patsy + Jenny and her two brothers Kenny (Beetle) & Paul Haydon. She moved to CA with her then Husband Bobby after the birth of their Daughter Patti. She resided in the greater Sacramento Area & Pleasant Grove where she was a dedicated stay-at-home mom & invested in her daughters’ career showing quarter horses. She later settled in Roseville. Always a hard worker, she joined the workforce and worked for the CA Chiropractic board where she retired but continued to work for FEMA through many notable natural disasters. She spent many years devoted to her bowling league, countless golf trips with her golfing ladies, she enjoyed playing darts and loved her Friday night poker games. Some of her favorite things were the Sacramento Kings, spending time with Larry, her dearest friends and of course her puppies. She was the true matriarch of her family and loved her girls deeply. She was a supportive mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was witty, loved to laugh and didn’t hesitate to tell you what was on her mind. She was very proud of her honor as a Kentucky Colonel and prideful of her roots.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Father, her first daughter Joanie, both sisters and her brother Paul. She is survived by her younger brother Kenny, her daughters, Patti & Penny, granddaughter’s Holly & Kessa and her great granddaughter Camryn. Larry Dillion, dear friends Betty Sutton, Edith Bailey, Helen Henderson, and Wanda Davis, extended family and her treasured friendships. Of course her doxies, Mr. T & Bossy.
