Bailey Blane Compton Jr.

Bailey “Butch” Compton, age 73, of Gracey, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at VA Hospital of natural causes. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

Mr. Compton was born in Princeton, Kentucky, on June 25, 1948, the son the late Bailey Blane Compton, Sr. and Marilyn Compton. Butch was retired custodian of Hopkinsville High School and a Marine Corps Veteran. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Compton

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Martha Word Compton, of Gracey, KY; sons, Randell Lee Compton and his wife Tina of Cadiz, KY, Earl Compton, Of Cadiz, KY, Jamie Compton, of Madisonville, KY, Dustin Compton, of Hopkinsville, KY, Brandon Compton, of Gracey, KY; his daughter, Kim Fountain and her husband Ty, of Oklahoma, Missy Hamilton, of Cadiz, KY; his brother Earl Compton, of Cadiz, KY; fourteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
